Repairs & services
Is it worth fixing an old slider instead of buying a new one?
Almost always. Rollers, a track cap and an adjustment usually cost a small fraction of a new door, as long as the frame and glass are in good shape.
Why is my sliding door so hard to open near the beach?
Near the beach it’s almost always sand in the track, rusted rollers, or both. Vacuum the track first. If it still drags, the rollers are done.
What causes a grinding or crunching noise?
A gritty crunch is sand in the track. A harsh metal grind means rollers that rusted and stopped turning, which will start cutting into the rail.
My slider jumped the track. Can I put it back myself?
Better not. Glass panels are heavy and can tip over, and the rollers or rail are usually damaged. Keep the area clear and give us a call.
Do you use stainless steel parts?
Yes, wherever they’re available for your door. Stainless rollers and track caps last much longer in salt air than standard steel.
Do you repair the screen doors on sliders too?
Yes. Screen doors get the same salt and sand treatment, so we replace their rollers and latches and rescreen torn panels, pet screen included.
What kinds of sliding doors do you repair?
Aluminum and vinyl patio sliders, condo balcony doors, impact-rated doors and older doors from most of the brands found in Volusia County homes.
Prices & payment
How much does sliding door repair cost in New Smyrna Beach?
Rollers and track work start at $149, locks and handles at $79, leaks and drafts at $99 and glass at $299. Badly corroded, oversized or impact panels can cost more, and you always get the price before we start.
Do you charge to come look at the door?
No. The on-site look and quote are free, and you’re under no obligation to book the repair.
What makes a beach-area repair cost more?
Heavy rust that fights removal, oversized or impact panels, three- or four-panel walls and upper-floor condo access. We point it out before starting.
Is there a deposit?
No deposit. The bill comes after the repair, once you’ve checked the door slides and locks.
What payment do you take?
We accept cash, check and all major cards, paid once the work is finished.
What does the warranty cover?
Parts and labor on the repair for 6-month. If the fix gives you trouble in that time, we come back at no charge.
Beach homes & condos
Why do sliding doors wear out so fast at the beach?
Salt air corrodes steel rollers and lock parts, and sand in the track works like sandpaper. Stainless parts and regular track cleaning make a big difference.
Do you work in beachside condos?
Yes. We repair balcony and patio sliders in condo buildings, and we can line up several units in one building on the same visit.
Do you work with condo associations and property managers?
Yes. We can schedule multiple doors, coordinate access with the office or owners, and send photos and invoices per unit.
Can you fix doors in vacation rentals between guests?
Yes. Tell us your check-out and check-in times and we’ll schedule around them. Owners don’t need to be there if someone can let us in.
Which areas do you serve?
All of New Smyrna Beach, beachside and mainland, including Beachside, Coronado Beach, Flagler Avenue, Canal Street & Downtown, Venetian Bay, Sugar Mill, plus Edgewater, Oak Hill, Port Orange, Ponce Inlet.
What should I do with my sliders before a storm?
Make sure every panel is fully closed and locked, the track is clear so the door seals, and shutters or panels are in place if you have them. Call us after the storm if a door is damaged or leaking.
Booking & the visit
How soon can you get to New Smyrna Beach?
Usually within the week, often sooner. Text us the door and your area, beachside or mainland, and we’ll offer the first open slot.
How long will the repair take?
A typical roller or lock job is an hour or two. Heavily rusted parts or several doors in one condo take longer, and we’ll tell you when we book.
Does someone have to be there?
Someone has to let us in and okay the quote. For second homes and rentals, a property manager, cleaner or neighbor is fine.
Should I send pictures before you come?
Yes, it helps a lot. A photo of the bottom of the panel, the track or a broken part tells us which rollers or lock to bring.
Can you call me instead?
Yes. Use the call-back box on the site, choose a day and time, and we’ll phone you then.
DIY & maintenance
How do I keep sand out of my sliding door track?
Vacuum the track every week or two in beach season, keep a mat on both sides of the door, and rinse sandy feet before coming in.
What’s the right way to clean the track?
Vacuum first, then wipe the rail with a damp rag, rinse away salt residue, dry it, and finish with a light mist of dry silicone.
What lubricant should I use?
A dry silicone spray. Avoid grease and oily sprays near the beach, because they trap sand and make the problem worse.
How long do sliding door rollers last near the ocean?
Standard steel rollers can rust out in just a few years on ocean-facing doors. Stainless rollers last much longer.
Can I raise a door that drags?
Sometimes. Look for small screw holes low on each end of the panel; turning them lifts the rollers. If the screws are rusted solid or nothing changes, the rollers need replacing.
